Privacy Policy

Overview
GodAdvocate (“we”, “us”) provides a mobile app and website for faith communities. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We do not sell your personal data.
Information we collect
- Account: your email address, used for passwordless sign-in.
- Activity: content you create in the app (e.g. prayer requests you post), and basic usage needed to run features.
- Giving: donations are processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your card or bank numbers.
- Notifications: a device push token, if you enable reminders.
How we use it
To provide and improve the app, deliver reminders you opt into, process giving through Stripe, and keep your account secure. We do not sell your data or use it for third-party advertising.
The “How are you feeling?” feature
When you use this feature, the feeling you type is sent to our server to select comforting Bible verses and a short prayer. We do not store, log, or link what you type to your account — it is processed transiently and discarded. When AI assistance is enabled, your text may be processed by Anthropic (Claude) in the United States solely to generate the response; it is not used to train models or for advertising. Because feelings can reflect your emotional state and religious beliefs, we treat this as sensitive data: using the feature is your explicit choice each time, and you can always skip it. If your message suggests you may be in crisis, we show support resources — the message itself is still not stored.
Payments
Donations are handled by Stripe under their privacy policy. Subscriptions to GodAdvocate Plus are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their respective terms.
Data retention & deletion
You can delete your account and personal data at any time from Account → Delete account, or by emailing us. We remove your data within 30 days, except records we must retain for legal or accounting reasons.
Children’s privacy
GodAdvocate is designed for teens and adults (13+). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your country) without verifiable parental consent, consistent with the US Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Children may browse free content (daily verses, events) as guests without any account or data collection. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it and all associated data promptly. Families using GodAdvocate together should have a parent or guardian manage any account, giving, or subscription.
Legal & regulatory compliance
We comply with applicable privacy and consumer-protection laws in the regions we serve, including GDPR (EU/UK), COPPA (US), and platform policies of the Apple App Store and Google Play. Data is processed under the legal bases of consent and legitimate interest; you can access, correct, or delete your data at any time (see Data retention & deletion above). Subscriptions are billed and refunded under the policies of the app store where purchased.
